Depending on your health insurance plan, guidelines may vary on whether the covered pump can be manual or electric, whether you can buy or rent, and when you'll receive your pump (before or after birth). Yes, in order to get your insurance-covered breast pump, you will need a prescription from your OB/GYN. What does the prescription need to cover?

Your doctor's signature
